What a month!

Ugh, well I somehow managed to get kicked out of my last blog. It won't allow me to sign back in and made me create a new blog. So here we go!

January has not been my month. To start off, I had major car trouble. Like so major it cost over $3,000 to fix. Then the week after we got it back, another check engine light came on. So it's been back at the dealership for the last 3 days. Luckily this time the bigger part was still under warranty, but not the smaller part. We still have to pay about $100 for this repair. Now once the part comes in (hopefully tomorrow) it should be a fast fix.

As most of you know, I started a new job. I am now a bus driver at Oakwood Elementary school. It has been a long ride to get to this point. I had to take a 3 day class and take 4 tests just to receive my CLP (learners permit). Then after about a week I had 3 days of training on the bus before I had to take my driving test. I passed with nearly a perfect score! I missed a total of 4 points out of 2 different tests. So I would say I did pretty good. My first week on the job was a 3 day work week. So that was nice to be able to ease into it. This week has been a little tougher. The kids of course like to test boundaries with new adults. I had to learn which kids mix well together and which kids don't.

Fun fact: bus drivers are required to stop 15 feet away from the driveway before the kid's are allowed to get on. This is a safety precaution because kids these days have been known to push others down. The 15 feet rule allows us to stop with plenty of space, so if a kid was to fall or get pushed out into the road, there is 0 chance the bus would run them over. Well with that being said, I had a parent get ugly with me because I wouldn't pull straight up to the driveway. I explained to him why I wasn't allowed, but of course he wasn't interested. He took a picture of my bus and said he was going to call the school about it. Luckily I have a really good boss and he set the man straight.

Now yesterday, I had another parent get ugly with me. This time it was because she didn't want to believe that her precious child told her only half of the truth. This little boy likes to start things with the other kids, but when he gets in trouble, suddenly it's everyone else's fault. Anyhow he told his mom that the other kids were picking at him, when he was the one who started it all. So with that said, this little boy has a new seat. He is now right up front with me.
Oh what a joy this week has been!

On a brighter note, I've been able to spend some more time taking pictures. We have a lot of birds that like to hang around our house. And luckily for me, we have a big window in our living room so I can watch and enjoy them. My favorite are the blue birds. I enjoy their bright colors.

We have two sets of cardinals right now. They tend to run each other off during meal times.

I'm amazed at how much detail my camera can pick up. I like to zoom in as close as I can, and I think it's cool how the pictures still seem to be so clear.

This last one was fighting with his reflection. It was funny watching him.
